Yellow (A Poem)
Recolored
Yellow,
So perfect,
As you grow,
I deflect,
The fear you feel,
Time can’t erase,
This that’s just too real,
Time can’t face,
And I’m standing still,
In all our lies,
All your deceit,
Looking at your disguise,
The obstacles you’ll meet,
On this self-destructive path,
You are dumping me,
You do the math,
As you set me free,
Tell me I made you,
Fall into these ways,
Tell me what to do,
Because your undeserving praise,
When you don’t want any help,
Because your respect who you are,
You think I need help,
Play me as the star,
Yellow,
I’m no longer your drug of choice,
Let the words flow,
God knows you have a voice,
It condescends me every moment,
No wonder I feel victimized,
Every moment spent,
Being recolored and resized.
