Random Lines of Love (A Poem)
Stagnant
It’d be so much easier if you were gone,
If some tragedy had washed you to sea,
All of these memories that I’ve won,
Of me, of you- that comprise we,
I push back a tear,
As I listen to your last message,
Only three little words I hear,
Carving out the truth to a jagged ridge,
I know that time can heal,
If I only let it,
Allowing the future to steal,
Where I currently sit,
I don’t want to become stagnant,
In a false promise’s hope,
Wondering where all the time has went,
As my own life and death elope,
I need to start to say goodbye,
And acknowledge the no effort from you,
Quit validating every time you lie,
And quit dreaming of “I do”.
