Mr. Innocent (A Poem)
Letting Her Innocence Fade
Playing Mr. Innocent,
Masked by shy facade,
All that time spent,
Letting her innocence fade,
Turning her from princess,
To blackened crumbling rose,
So much he could confess,
Thinking it best the less she knows,
Breaking down in rivers of tears,
Each night she falls into the earthquake,
Of thoughts surrounding all her fears,
Until one night she had all she could take,
And the dark energy took hold,
Until she lost the place she stood,
Perfectly unstable the dealt cards told,
Everything that fate should,
She would have died for control,
She would have died for the truth,
Broken until proved whole,
A frayed puzzle less uncouth...
